The short answer - they are easier to see in the bright light of daytime. Green Laser Sights are much more visible therefore allowing for it to be used anytime, day or night, outdoors and indoors. The bright intense Green laser beam allows the operator to acquire their target rapidly in many lighting conditions that a red laser can not. Since the color Green is closer to the center of the visible spectrum at 532 Nanometers the human eye can see the Green Laser Sight much easier than a Red Laser Sight at 635 Nanometers. Most experts believe that the Green Laser sight may appear 40-50 times brighter than the red laser sight equivalent.
